When we went to the Currency Museum in Ottawa, I’ll admit that I wasn’t really interested in reading all about currency. I was busy looking for something to photograph. I love how displays are lit so dramatically and as such I don’t have to use such a high ISO in the dark museum since the subject I want to photograph is bathed in sufficient light. I try to keep the shutter speed at least as fast as 1/60s since all my shots are hand held, so I had to increase my ISO to 640 to get the right exposure. In post editing, I just increased the contrast a touch for a cleaner, sharper look.

Light is the most important element in making a photograph. Learning about light is an endless endeavour and it’s what keeps photography interesting to me. What are your thoughts on light?
