When we went to the Currency Museum in Ottawa, I’ll admit that I wasn’t really interested in reading all about currency. I was busy looking for something to photograph. I love how displays are lit so dramatically and as such I don’t have to use such a high ISO in the dark museum since the subject I want to photograph is bathed in sufficient light. I try to keep the shutter speed at least as fast as 1/60s since all my shots are hand held, so I had to increase my ISO to 640 to get the right exposure. In post editing, I just increased the contrast a touch for a cleaner, sharper look.
Light is the most important element in making a photograph. Learning about light is an endless endeavour and it’s what keeps photography interesting to me. What are your thoughts on light?

Thoughts on light - i love it, even more so in winter when it is more elusive. Love everything about it. How it illuminates dark places and all of the symbolism that goes with it. I love that it grows food, flowers and all things good. I’m always trying to shoot the light somehow.

Good Morning! My thoughts on light are I wish I understood it better
I am going to have to get a list of cool places in Canada that you have photographed so if we get to make the trip this summer I will have some great places to see! Cool shot BTW
