Saw this bug-eyed hopper on the way to the car. It was resting so quietly on our garbage can that I actually had time to dig out my camera and take three shots. Oh, I am going to love getting my macro lens! But for now, I had to settle for a 70mm focal length and did some major cropping to get the image above and below. I also increased blacks, contrast and a touch of clarity to define the spots on its camouflaged body. It’s face had a striking resemblance to a human profile when I first spotted it so I had to get the camera.

Wouldn’t you know it? The moment I was taking this shot, I was imagining how freaked out I would be if it jumped at me. Guess what it did soon after I pressed the shutter release button. Yup… it scared the living daylights out of me. Luckily I didn’t drop the camera!
