We finally got around to decorating our tree that had been standing bare for the last couple of days. Our little one is at that stage where she has to “help” out with everything so I handed her very first ornament to hang and ran to grab my camera. I love documenting these types of “firsts” in photos or video. Since I’m too lazy to keep a journal of all the little things she does, I take photos, which have a time and date stamp on them (in the EXIF). Handy!
Can we call it photo-journaling? I don’t even know how to spell that.
p.s. Don’t you just love her work? Nicely spaced out… as far up as she could reach.

We’re hoping to get our tree this weekend. The kids all have their favorite ornaments to hang. I love that the tree is bottom heavy b/c I know it’s their work. Your daughter looks like she’s concentrating hard - too cute!

That is just adorable! We are going up to cut a tree this weekend with our Granddaughter, should be fun even though we don’t have any snow yet!

Oh Laura, this is soooo sweet! I love “photo-journaling” too. You are brave - we didn’t do a big Christmas tree the year Nadia was that age, she was simply too curious and into everything! We’re doing ours this weekend - can’t wait!

She looks like she is taking such precious care with that ornament. And the spacing is perfection.
What a great helper.

@Jen: I did have to rearrange her ‘work’ afterwards but I took the picture to remember her decorating.
@Christina: You know, I never even considered not putting it up b/c of Sophie… but then again, we never even had to put up a gate for the stairs either. I guess you can say, she knows her boundaries.
