Can you tell that I had a little more time than usual to work on my daily pic for today? After I used a Lightroom preset from Kelsey Smith called Compassion, and fine tuned a few settings, I opened it up in Photoshop and added a colour layer to get that aqua-coloured sky, which was blown out originally. Then I added a burlap texture and a layer mask to paint out the burlap on my subject’s faces. I wanted the burlap to stand out some more so I adjusted the blacks a bit and then duplicated the layer but this time painted out the burlap over their faces at a lower opacity so that some of the texture would still show. So, overall, there is still a canvas-like texture over the whole image but the effect is lessened over their faces.
Want to see the SOOC? I thought you might.
I love going over to my parent’s house because I can just relax and rest up a bit. I know Sophie will be taken care of and I can take a little break from my 24/7 job. Of course, she loves it just as much as I do. Hanging out with Mommy all day, everyday probably gets a little old after a while.

I love the moment you captured between the 2. Little ones can always bring out the kid in all of us, no matter what age.

I love the photo of Sophie and Grandpa. The processing you did is really nice too. I hear you on the parent thing. My mom is like that too, she will come visit and Mommy gets to take a little mini-vacation. LOVE IT!
Have fun!
