What do you do when you walk into the washroom and see this? Why, run and grab your camera of course! As long as it’s not dangerous, why not capture them getting into things they’re not supposed to get into? You can use it as evidence when you tell your child how much work fun they were growing up.

Another lesson learned here is to get your exposure right. I had severely underexposed these shots in my hurry to capture the moment. As a result, they suffered from a crazy amount of noise after increasing exposure in post processing. I had to use noise reduction in post as well to lessen the graininess. Some grain is ok, but these had so much that the skin looked pretty bad. At ISO 800, my camera does ok with respect to noise, only IF the exposure is correct, which obviously was not the case here. I’m still working on those fingers to try and get quicker when changing my settings.
It’s amazing what kids can pick up just from watching you once or twice.

This is great. I dont put makeup on to many times a week, but I happen to do it last night since we were going out and Ella so wanted to put some on too. That was the first time she showed an interest. The eyelash curler pics are hilarious. I remember Ella looking at me lie “what the…..”.
Great candid shots! You seemed to have grabbed the camera just in time!

Haha, Malia totally knows how to use the eyelash curler too but her favourite is mascara…she pokes herself in the eye with it trying to touch her eyelashes! Oh well, they might as well get some practice because we all know Asian lashes need lots of curling and mascara!

This is why I have my camera loaded and ready to go on the sofa table at all times.
Karen: Oh, I’m one of those cursed with stick-straight, sparse, stubby lashes that protrude downwards. Why oh why?

Eeeek! That is so adorable. I would have been grabbing the camera, too. Love the eyelash curler snaps. You know, she’s really smart, too - I forget she’s not even 18 months!
You did a great job fixing the exposure, too - I can’t even see the noise at this size.
Sorry I haven’t been around much - life’s been crazy!
