It was time to say goodbye to my good ol’ 50mm f/1.8. The nifty fifty as some call it. It was my favourite lens. Two years, it had served me well. Astounding finesse in low light, beautiful bokeh, nice build quality and reliable. Small enough to take anywhere and the perfect length for portraits.
But alas, it was time for it to move on… onto new and better things. It went to a good family. It will help capture new beginnings for them. A newborn. It’s favourite subject. Serve them well good friend.

I can’t ever imagine wanting to sell my 50mm. I heart it….yes, I crave more lenses, but the nifty fifty will always be my first love and I will never part with it.
What are you replacing it with?

I recently picked up the 50mm, and can’t imagine parting from it! I also recently got the sigma 28-70 F2.8 and love it too, however not a easy to walk around with at all. Love the 50 for that!
What did you get?

Yes, I had an emotional attachment to my first good lens but since buying my other lenses, I hadn’t touched it. I’m hoping to replace it with an 85 f/1.8 or f/1.4 someday. Thinking of that helped me to “let go”.
