Yeah, I’m still kicking myself for not having my telephoto lens with me when we went to the zoo. But, luckily for us, I still had enough pixels to crop! Isn’t the digital age wonderful? It was a treat to have come across the snow leopards just before closing, which also happened to be their dinner time. Originally, I processed this one the way I usually work on pictures taken outdoors - increase contrast, clarity etc. However, my editing just brought out the greens more and the already elusive leopard was becoming lost in the image. So, I went to the other end of the spectrum and decreased the contrast, clarity, vibrancy and saturation, which lessened the intensity of the greens and brought more attention to the main subject. I warmed up the white balance just a touch as well. There are so many ways to process a photo, so sometimes I have to open the other eye and try other styles as well in order to bring out the best in the subject.
Oh, and the SOOC, just for comparison sake:

Wow! i am continuously amazed at what we can now do with post processing. I love taking pictures of animals at the zoo, but they never seem to come out well. I think I will take a few and play with some post processing software!
