It’s been a while since I’ve posted a daily pic and I hope I’ll be able to continue posting on a more regular basis. I took this a few weeks ago, while just hanging out with family. Since getting my 50mm f/1.4 in the summer, I’ve had that as my default lens on my camera. I love that it’s small, light and I can shoot without a flash indoors.
I am more likely to take my camera with me if the lens is small and more portable. Then it is more likely that you can capture simple, unscripted moments like this.

Hi I’m a beginner photographer–I took a short intro course this past summer. I also just bought a 50mm lens (my instructor calls it the nifty fifty) and am in love with it. But it is a bit restrictive with close up photos. I’m still learning to use it–too many of my pictures suffer from hand shake, which is frustrating, but I’m working on improving. I love this photo. Your little girl is beautiful, and your picture of her is awesome.
