It was nice to get out and do some shooting outside. It was a warm and beautiful day but slightly overcast, which made it much easier to retain highlights. I did have to boost the exposure in post just a touch but what I really wanted to do was brighten up my subject’s face.

In order to do that, I simply used the new adjustment brush in Lightroom 2.0 to increase the exposure in a localized area. Because the actions of the brush are non-destructive and can be adjusted at any time after as well, I find it to be an indispensable tool.
