Shooting outdoors can be a challenge because you have to deal with the sun and its sometimes harsh, direct rays. I accidentally had the exposure compensation increased from when I was shooting at a different angle and as a result, part of the photo had overexposed highlights. OOPS! But have no fear! With the digital format comes a safety net. Using Adobe Lightroom, I used the handy dandy recovery slider to bring back the detail in the hat and face, which were blown out. Fantabulous!

Sophie isn’t normally one to suck her thumb. Perhaps there were remnants of ice cream on her fingers?
