I was just looking through my archives and found this shot I took a couple years ago at the Notre Dame in Montreal. I was facing the entrance. Quite a different look from this image of the other end of the basilica.

Ahh, I miss traveling.

My child usually doesn’t look at the camera and when she does it’s usually a blank stare. Sometimes she needs a little help for me to get the photo I want. She was in the shade in this little brook and I needed some light in her eyes, so I asked my husband to hold a rock above her and offer it to her. She looked up and held out her hand naturally and I took a few shots. Of the three that I took, her expression was the most relaxed in this one.

Don’t be afraid to interact with your little ones when photographing them to get the image you want.

This week’s What’s Your Play is brought to you by the Munchkin, my 3 year old daughter. She took this shot at a cafe in Seattle. She was the perfect height to shoot this in the display case there. Hope you have fun processing it!

Due to my workload, I’ve decided to run What’s Your Play every other week. Hope you’ll still play!
