Today was a beautiful day as Benetta and Abe exchanged vows and became husband and wife. It’s super late but I just couldn’t resist sharing a few images from their wedding.

I think you’ll agree with me. They are gorgeous, happy and so in love!

At OAC Photo Club recently, we worked on using off-camera flash to create a rim of light and separate our subject from a dark background for a dramatic effect.

What do you think?

(The red on the background was caused by a reflection off of a red piece of paper I attached to the flash as a flag to prevent the light from spilling onto the bookcase behind it. Very minimal processing done.)

From the very west end of Ladner where the guys were hanging out, to the very east where the ladies were getting ready, everyone was a good spirits. It was the big day they had all been looking forward to.

My second photographer Sherry Lu and I headed to a beautiful heritage home to meet up with Mike and his groomsmen who were enjoying a drink and taking in the great weather. Mike was happy to have his glass of milk while the guys enjoyed their beers.

Molly was positively radiant!

Molly and Mike’s sweet daughter and flower girl excitedly ran down the aisle.

Mike was all smiles once the doors opened and he saw his bride.

We headed to the historic Stewart Farmhouse for some portraits.

Congratulations again Molly and Mike! It was such a pleasure to be your photographer and I wish you and your families unending happiness.

It seems like it’s been a while since I’ve been able to enjoy a wedding just as a guest but last weekend, I was able to do so. As a guest, I made sure not to move from my spot while taking a few snaps during the ceremony and stayed in my seat during the reception while I let the official photographers do their job. I was tempted to just take my iPhone with me as my camera but grabbed my D50 and 50mm lens last minute to take some photos of my family, since we were all dressed up. I loved the centrepieces, so here’s one shot for you to download, process and share!
