Ok everyone! It’s our second What’s Your Play assignment. Today I chose a non-human subject to give you a greater range of freedom for your processing. Go crazy! I can’t wait to see what you come up with.
Remember to link to your version by leaving a comment below. You are welcome to add any specifics about what you did in your processing (software used, adjusted values, cropping etc) to help us learn.
Here’s a short slideshow of all the submissions from last week:
Let me know if you don’t want me to include your play in the weekly recaps. It may not always be in a slideshow format but I’d like to display all your work for the previous WYP in one place.
And you’re all welcome to submit your own photo for manipulation as well by emailing me a high res SOOC photo to play [at] dolcepics [dot] com.

I love seeing the slideshow of all the interpretations. Amazing how any different feels one photo can have!
I’ll try and e-mail you some pics, too.

Neat idea! I just adjusted the curves, set a color balance over it, brought down the saturation and added ANOTHER color balance. Then added an overlay of a picture of bricks I took with the opacity down, and erasing over the shoes. Let me know when you’re doing the next one!

Love the idea of different interpretations of the same photo. I used PSE 6. I cropped, created a duplicate layer, blurred it and set the layer to overlay. I then adjusted a new levels layer slightly and burned the edges.

I went for vibrant with lots of contrast, similar to Kirsten and Stacey’s.

Wasn’t sure how to process this pic. I tried about 4 or 5 times. This is what I came up with.
http://www.flickr.com/photos/26175930@N05/2674786770/
1. Selected shoes and inverted selection
2. Adjusted the curve to make a more wet pavement look
3. Used “Replace Colour” to change to a more lavender/purple colour.
4. Liquified the cherry on the side to make is a bit smaller so it didn’t stick out as much
5. Painted over some of the writing and lines inside the shoes.
6. Adjusted the levels a bit.
7. Copy and pasted the background
8. Added a “Radius 10.0 pixels” Gaussian blur
9. Changed the Opacity of the top layer to 20% to give the picture a bit of a glow.
10. Changed to 600×398
11. Added name to bottom left corner at 50% Opacity.

I used photoshop this time.
I used the filter texture-grain and changed the brightness and contrast a bit.

I’m sad I missed last week! Okay, I looked at all the submissions after I did mine and it was pretty similar to a few so I’m not going to upload it since it would be repetitious. I will for sure join next week!

I know I’m SO VERY late on this one! It was hard to think of something that hadn’t already been done already. Here’s my take:

here’s my shot at it! Should we also post them to your Flickr group? It might make it easier for all of us to see what we cam up with! I’d love to see them, but my internet connection is sometimes so slow it’s hard to click on each link!! Love your site!

This is so great! Thanks everyone for playing so far! If you would like to add your own edit to this list, please do! I’ll be gathering all the images up and make a collage or slideshow so we can see them all in one place.
@dr lyn: Were you able to view the slideshow from last week?
