Is it Tuesday already? Here’s your 3rd WYP assignment! I shot this yesterday in the evening at about 7:00pm. I find that shooting at this time in the sun gives a beautiful golden glow. This image is SOOC compressed from the RAW file. Have a go at it and make it your own!
Remember to link to your version by leaving a comment below. You are welcome to add any specifics about what you did in your processing (software used, adjusted values, cropping etc) to help us learn. Click here to read the complete rules for What’s Your Play. Remember, all readers are invited to submit their own photos for manipulation by emailing a high res photo (preferably SOOC) to play [at] dolcepics [dot] com.
And of course, the collection of all your plays from last week’s WYP:
It just amazes me how everyone has a different touch when it comes to post processing. They are all equally creative and excellent! Thanks so much to Liz, Christina, Kirsten, Natalie, Stacey, Megan, Paul, Mika, Heather, Katherine, Abes, Nicki, dr lyn, Melissa B (aka PhotoMom86) and Christy for posting your edit!
I look forward to seeing all your versions for today’s WYP soon!

I went a little heavy on the effect this time, just to try something different from my regular processing.

Laura,
Just checked out your photo, it looks great! I like the effect a lot. Perfect for the picture. Here’s mine http://www.flickr.com/photos/86529045@N00/2693067863/
I kept changing it midstream. Too many choices (lol).

I wanted to pretty much blow out everything but the shadow…just slide a bunch of bars around in Lightroom.

Sheesh. This one was impossibly hard!!! I just could not get it how I wanted and finally gave up with less than stellar results:

I loved this one! It reminded me of Peter Pan chasing after his shadow, so cute.
Now I am off to look at the rest of the submissions

Just a quick 5 minute go at it. Tried a type of selective colouring.
1. Transform -> skewed the picture to make the shadow longer and Sophie more upright.
2. Selected around her and inversed the selection.
3. Changed the levels and then adjusted the Hue/Saturation.
4. Inversed the selection again and colour balanced Sophie.
5. Adjusted the levels on Sophie.
6. Deselected.
7. Added a bit of Unsharpen mask.
8. Selected all to make a copy of the layer.
9. Pasted a layer and then added a Gaussian blur of 10 points.
10. Adjusted the layer opacity to 20%.

ok, so here’s my take…this was so much fun and really neat to see what everyone comes up with. nothing fancy from me, I use Lightroom and cropped it, increased the blacks and contrast, decreased the exposure slightly and played a tiny bit with the blue and green saturation do give it a slightly darker feel. so NOT technical i know!

I used Lightroom.
- Cropped the image
- Used the preset: Aged photo
- tweaked the exposure and recovery
- changed some hues and saturations
It was fun!

Okay … I got a little crazy here … My husband took the kids to mcdonald’s Saturday morning, which left me with TOO much time to play with this! Sorry for so many pix …

I think my favs are 6, 12 & 13. My dominant thought was to accentuate her and the shadow and I think these “plays” do it best.
