Kelly over at Lucy In The Sky With Diamonds was kind enough to share a photo of her daughter at the beach. Isn’t it beautiful? We’re looking forward to seeing how you can splash a bit of your processing style on it, so go ahead and download the photo and work those digital hands.
Remember to link to your version by leaving a comment below. You are welcome to add any specifics about what you did in your processing (software used, adjusted values, cropping etc) to help us learn. Click here to get the complete details for What’s Your Play. Remember, all readers are invited to submit their own photos for manipulation by emailing a high res photo (preferably SOOC) to play [at] dolcepics [dot] com.
And here are the plays from WYP 7. It’s always amazing to see how many variations we can get!

I’ve decided to delurk and try WYP!! Thanks Jonni for emailing me this great site. Here’s my version. I just cropped it a bit, used PW’s fresh and colorful, and added a texture layer. I’ve been wanting to play with texture and think that this came out okay.

Yeah! Thanks for choosing my picture. Andie, for some reason I can’t comment on your flickr account. It will pull up all of the comments, but the comment box is not pulling up, which is strange. Anyway, your edit is BEAUTIFUL!! I love the color you were able to achieve. Thank you for playing. I can’t wait to see what everyone comes up with.
Here is my play on the picture

Here is my play…first time in a few weeks that I actually made it on the day.

First off, this is a great picture. Kids on the beach are so fun! Wish we lived closer to one.
Here is what I did - cropped, ran a free action from Dani, added a textured and then ran a vignette action from the CoffeeShop.
I’m wondering now if I should have masked the little girl a bit.

Ok couldn’t resist. Here’s another one. I thought this came out looking like an old magazine ad. Maybe its the colors?
..anyway I had a blast with this one!

Thanks for the beautiful photo to work on, Kelly.
Not feeling well today so a little uninspired… but still wanted to play. This shot reminded me of an old timey photo.

unbelievable. I just love all those different takes on toesies. I’d love to play but feel I don’t have time to muck around in GIMP right now, also (to be honest) don’t feel creative enough for the challenge.

I finally learned how to use the clone tool! Hooray!
Here’s my play…
http://flickr.com/photos/somethingcheeky/2801531525/
I cloned (duh) some of the peeeps, blew out most everything else except the water line and increase the colors a bit. This was a gorgeous picture to start with!
I was sooo disappointed yesterday because I came here all ready to play, but alas, it wasn’t Tuesday yet.

I finally got the chance to play! Kelly, I love this picture - absolutely beautiful! I wish we had a beach nearby.
There were so many different ways I could have gone with this image, but a vintage monochrome treatment is what spoke to me the most.

Thank you to all of you for playing with my photo last week. It’s amazing to see so many different beautiful interpretations!

I hope you like the new picture. I used GIMP 2.6 to make the changes. Cropped, removed the distractions, and applies a little oil.
